Unite Students, nationwide

Unite Students is one of the leading providers of student accommodation in the UK. With over 29 years’ experience, they provide homes for 76,000 students across 27 cities every year. They pride themselves on knowing what students need and want, and use those insights to make their residents feel right at home.

A big part of their day-to-day operations is parking. Before working with us, they wanted to implement flexible parking solutions for different driver groups – students, visitors and guests – and optimise their car park during quiet periods to earn an additional revenue stream.

The solution

CBRE introduced us to Unite Students in 2019 and together, we looked at a suite of parking options for their residents, guests and JustPark drivers across 13 sites. Thanks to our range of flexible products and services, we could tailor every solution to the needs, occupancy and requirements of each site.

The results

• Bristol: After evaluating Unite Students’ property portfolio in Bristol, we found that the car parks at three locations were not fully occupied. We installed secure access equipment at each of these locations, listed the available spaces on our platform and saw an immediate uptake from our drivers.

• Manchester: This site had a lot of empty spaces. So we implemented our platform, allowing verified JustPark drivers to park and pay. The site now earns an additional revenue stream from a previously overlooked asset.
• Loughborough: They wanted to manage student parking and earn additional revenue. So we designed a solution that combines pre-booking for JustPark drivers and season tickets - allowing students to choose from three different locations.
