Having sold out in record time internationally, Taylor Swift’s wildly popular Eras Tour is coming to Anfield Stadium June 13, 14 and 15. While the stadium is used to seeing crowds of thousands around matchdays, coordinating the massive rush of over 61,000 guests will be a logistical challenge — even with advanced planning.
One of the biggest challenges for those who managed to get tickets will be getting to Anfield. Stories from the Paris and Lisbon leg of the tour have fans recounting waiting 3+ hours to catch a bus or train out of the area. And if you plan to drive, you’ll need to be extra-savvy in your choice of parking space, knowing how congested and limited the roads surrounding the stadium will be.
Here’s our advice for finding parking near the Taylor Swift show at Anfield:
Book a parking space ahead of time near the stadium — and do it ASAP
This is the simplest and most convenient option for parking for most concert-goers. Not only will it save you time and money on the day-of, but it will also give you guaranteed access to a parking space near Anfield and can offer flexibility that other traditional car parks can’t.
Using the JustPark app or website, you can search, find and reserve a space which should tick most of your boxes when looking for parking:
- You can search for spaces within walking distance of the stadium and get more affordable rates than local car parks or unsecured pop-up parking
- You should be able to escape the crowds more easily leaving your car in a slightly less congested area
- You can extend your parking session easily through the JustPark app if you’re facing delays getting out of the stadium crowds
- You can have peace of mind knowing that you’ve got a guaranteed parking space upon arrival
Given the popularity of this particular tour, we recommend booking a parking space ASAP so you don’t miss out on available options.
Park nearby and take public transport to Anfield
With Anfield only being around 15 minutes away from Liverpool City Centre, the stadium recommends that people use public transport to complete the last step of their journey. The 917 bus takes you directly from the city centre to Anfield, with an adult return ticket costing just £4.60, and there are other local services from Queen Square Bus Station and Liverpool ONE Bus Station available for cheap gig day travel.
Liverpool Lime Street Station is under two miles from Anfield Stadium, making it a popular point on the commute for away fans visiting for the day, as there are trains connecting to Manchester, Doncaster, Birmingham, Nottingham, and many other locations.
There are also Merseyrail services going to Liverpool Moorfields, Southport, and Kirkby, that arrive at Sandhills Station, also around two miles away.
Park at a further distance and take the train
Strategically planning your route will save you a lot of time and hassle on travel day. While this option might take you a bit more time depending on train schedules and availability, you can save majorly on parking costs and take the train for a partial journey to your destination.
For example, if you’ll be passing through central London on your journey and want to map the rest of your route, you could find parking near Euston Station and grab a Merseyrail service into Liverpool.
Live near Anfield? Rent out your driveway for extra income
While you might not be attending the tour dates, you can still benefit from the influx of crowds coming into the area for other events and on matchdays. If you’re a homeowner in the Anfield area and have a driveway with extra space, simply rent out your driveway to earn a side income and benefit those in need of car parking; it’s as easy as that. You can set your availability and pricing so you’re in full control of your space.
