Where to find the cheapest parking near the O2 Arena in London

Use these tips to avoid overly congested areas and cut costs during nights out.

arena filled with concert attendees

The iconic O2 Arena in London is one of the largest and most well-known venues in the UK for live events. Bringing in over 2 million people each year, the arena puts on concerts, sporting events, and comedy acts from both UK-famous to international stars, having hosted the likes of Prince, Queen, Ed Sheeran, the Brit Awards and Olympic sports.

While your visit to the O2 is certain to be an evening to remember, making sure that you have parking sorted before you arrive can help make it even better. The last thing you want is to show up, possibly late from traffic on a busy event night, and be stuck on the surrounding streets searching for parking with no luck.

We’ve put together these tips to help you find the best parking options near the O2, so you can arrive without a worry, save money, and fully enjoy the fun.

Park on a neighbouring drive or reserve a nearby space ahead of time

An excellent alternative to official O2 parking is to use a neighbour’s driveway through official apps like JustPark. Many locals rent out their driveways during busy concert season to make a side profit, which benefits both the local community and drivers alike since these parking rates are more often than not much cheaper than official event parking.

With rates starting as low as £3 per hour, it offers a cheaper and more convenient solution which is just a short walk from the venue. This approach can also help you to avoid crowded car parks and even make your visit to the O2 more enjoyable by removing stress day-of. Plus, if there’s an encore or you’re getting caught up in crowds leaving the venue, you can extend your booking through the app to avoid any parking fines.

Parking spaces are currently available in the following areas near the O2:

Search for official parking at the O2 for some events

The O2 offers official parking that is located just a short walk from the venue. These car parks are managed by the venue itself and are often secure, but parking onsite may get expensive with an average cost of £40 per car.

Some events offer pre-booked parking as an option, but it’s worth considering you may need to factor in longer commute times since the congestion around leaving events from the official spaces can be heavy.

Cut down your driving time by taking the train

Opting for public transport can be a convenient way to reach the O2. North Greenwich Station on the Jubilee Line is only about a 5-minute walk from the arena. If you're coming from a different part of London or prefer to park elsewhere, you can park at another station and take the train to North Greenwich.

If you’re coming from outside of London, then many of the train stations connect with the London Underground system. Train stations like Waterloo, Kings Cross and Euston all connect directly to the TfL system and are easy to navigate through.

On-street parking is an option, but is often restricted

While on-street parking near the O2 is available, there are often parking restrictions around the arena, particularly during major events. To avoid parking fines, we recommend reserving a space in advance.
