I awoke early with an overwhelming sense of undefined anticipation; perhaps you would call it a premonition, or maybe intuition or perhaps just subconscious realisation than today would be the very day in which a lifetime of waiting would finally be complete, and yet at the same time the magnitude of coming events was never fully clear until those events came to their fruition.
It was a crisp, bright morning whose piercingly blue sky had not yet yielded to the promised fierce heat of the the bright, golden sun - that perfect point between the chill of sunrise and the rising heat of mid morning; remnants of dew still jewelled the grass in the dappled shade beneath the trees.
On turning the corner, I gasped, awestruck - the still-low sun grazed the broad expanse of small, uniform stones; a half hour later they would be brightly lit and might just appear dull grey; mere minutes earlier they would be in shade, but in this perfect minute, the inquisitive rays of the sun intersected the timeworn pebbled surface with such faultless purity that one could have been gazing across a pavement of pure, flawless, precious gold.
I was awoken from my reverie of this crystalline sublimity by the music of the enthusiastic voices of small children, squealing with boisterous enjoyment of unknown joy in the adjacent park. Thus awakened and enlivened, I pressed forward to inhabit this shining scene.
It was one of those untellable moments in which everything simply works as if ordained by some higher power - the hidden machinery of the universe moving and conspiring to shepherd my every movement in ways that, at the time, seemed merely mundane and necessary and obvious, but in retrospect, I recollect as guided with a sense of almost divine order and pattern. I found my space; my ordered place in the boiling chaos of reality, with what I now realise was almost supernatural grace.
I wept aloud with the unbridled joy of this true and faultless instant, but also with the bitter realisation that, for all its impeccable splendour, this juncture was now complete and could never happen again.
5 stars. Would park here again.

Maybe some public toilets please?

Prefer to park here rather than other busy car parks in Bridport.

Much better value than parking in West Bay which is now overpriced. Lovely walk in via a footpath along the river.

Big problem: I left this car park long before the time expired, and went to another car park. I couldn't use Just Park for the second car park because the system thought I was still at the first car park, and there was no way I could find of cancelling it. Please advise.

Pots holes are terrible but a good number of spaces.
Frank N C6th April 2024
The surface of this car park is very poor, full of large pot holes and inclined to be very wet in poor weather. Easy access to Bridport shops. Still the cheapest car park in the town at £1-50 for 2 hours.
