Castle Hill Car Park

The car park was ok but the JustPark experience was poor to the point of much swearing. My first attempt failed because the app sat spinning a progress wheel continuously, so I updated the app. That let me in, so I selected location, time and vehicle and opted to pay by Apple Pay. At that point I was told I couldn't do that because someone already had an account with that phone number or email, I can't remember which. It must have pulled that ID out of saved data as it didn't ask me to login when I started the app. I then tried to login with the credentials I had saved, and that didn't work. Finally I logged in via Apple and it was fine with that. So why did it care that some previous bits of ID were the same as what was picked up from Apple Pay?

The entrance was blocked by a lorry loading fencing, so the only was in was via the exit. I could not get the app to work. I don’t know if it was a problem with the mobile data or something else. I tried to pay at the machine but got two rejected transactions. Other people looked to be having difficulty. Had to pay by phone which was a pain.

Used a charger spot, barely got in there due to bumpers. Also for some reason the network coverage was pretty poor and I had to try 3 chargers until one connected successfully. Also the parking app was unusually slow to load.

EV charging here is very handy

Easily accessible from A14 and convenient to get to town centre.

Fantastic car park, app easy to use. Always park here when visiting Cambridge.

Excellent car park, but very poor signposting. The new electric chargers worked well but had signs which incorrectly suggested they wouldn't work and are not listed on charging apps

paying using the app was not easy as Internet access was not working. as usual paying took us ages
