Crown House Car Park

The car park itself was satisfactory, but I did not award 5 stars for the following reasons: The location of the pedestrian exit is unclear. The signage should be more visible and direct. Currently, the exit appears to be through the emergency door, but after that, you're left guessing which door to open next. The stairwell leading to the road is poorly maintained, with debris scattered across the stairs, which makes it unclean and unpleasant. On my return, following some rain, the stairs and the hallway at the bottom were completely flooded. Fortunately, my shoes were waterproof, but it was an inconvenience nonetheless. Upon leaving, it wasn’t immediately clear that there was a button to press to open the exit barrier. This should be made more apparent, and it would be helpful if this detail was included in the JustPark description.

This place was a nightmare as the PIN code given didn't work and I couldn't get through to JustPark without holding for 20 minutes on the phone. When I did get through, I was given an alternative PIN code number.

The directions were incorrect. You don't access the car park from Crown Street but Southampton street. This meant we went round the block 4 times to find it. With all the other delays, see below, I was late for my appointment. We then tried the 'open barrier' button on the app and that didn't work. We had to ring for help and that took ages for someone to answer. They gave us a code, that didn't work. He gave us another, this one did. Admittedly, he was very good. There was human faeces around, which is massively unhygienic. Trying to get out on foot was confusing. Coming out, we tried driving up to the gate and nothing happened. There were no green buttons or keypad to use so my partner had to walk round and use the keypad on the other side of the gate. Not great if you are on your own. I would neither recommend nor use this car park again.

Forgot to mention - gate was open on arrival but when I returned it was closed. Code wouldn’t work and my car was stuck in the carpark. Number on keypad is incorrect - a man answered and ask is this about a carpark? I said yes and he said it’s the wrong number. Poor guy must be sick of people calling him. A Tesco worker and security guard attempted to help me gain access but was unsuccessful. I returned with a broom and managed to fit it down the side of the pedestrian gate to press the button, I then had to walk down to the gate button and managed to fit my hand through the railings to press it so the gate would open. I don’t live in reading and had no option but to do this to get my car out. I had no way of contacting JustPark and this all happened on a Sunday around 9.45pm. Probably won’t use this carpark again. Also, there was a mountain of rubbish from the student accommodation piled up in the carpark and it smelt horrendous. I’ve used this carpark a few times and have also seen bottles of urine.

Can’t get into carpark as code doesn’t work. No one to call. Fucking idiots

It’s not very well advertised from the Main Street and the gate system could do with some refurbishment but good value for money

Took me a while to find the exit button to get out. Google didn't know that London Street was one way. Think that would be a helpful to put on the listing somewhere - that it's actually on London Street, which is one way.
