Pulling in it appeared I would be parking-in at least one of the the host's two cars, but host Neil was very friendly and assured me it was no problem.

I would not recommend this parking space to someone with a larger vehicle or someone who is not confident parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces. If you get assigned the space in front of the garage, it's fine. But if you get one of the spaces parallel to the house you will find parking and leaving more hassle as you will have to manoeuvre around the car parked in front of the garage.
