The proper car parking spaces were taken so we had to park in the side of the drive half up on the pavement.

Too many cars booked for the space available. If I had arrived in the car I originally booked, it would not have fitted without blocking everyone else in.

They are clearly overbooking spaces and I had to park in the hedge in a very unsuitable position. I don't expect US size places but I don't expect to park in the hedge.
