Parking on Swan Lane, SO23

When I arrived at the appointed time, I could not park in the space because it was occupied by the Aster van which had parked between the 2 spaces, the workman eventually returned and said that if he parked in his official space he could not access the side door of his van so had parked in 12a. I originally parked in 12 but was worried that this was not correct. The chap moved his van to occupy his space but it was tight and then moved it to the other side of the road so that I could occupy the space 12a. He was apologetic and sympathetic and was totally charming about the situation but it might have been a problem if I hadn’t been able to contact him. My car is big but the spaces are not large enough if access to the vehicles is needed. Positive outcome and convenient but may have potentially been problematic.

Park space was available, but my “standard “ car could barely fit the tiny space allocated . It was a ridiculously tight fit.

When we arrived there was a car in our space. Fortunately the owner moved car just in time. However the waiting was stressful as we had a train to catch and weren't sure the space would be available in time. I won't use this car parking space again although it was a very convenient position to the railway station.
